Polygonal lozenge-shaped pillbox, constructed of reinforced concrete 1940-1 as part of the Northern Command Wooler to Alnwick Stop Line. Extant on survey 1996. At Loaning Head. (4a)
Loaning Head is not an area, but the name of a local house. The pillbox appears to be sited west of a track leading from Broom House Farm and NNW of the farm, i.e. closer to that farm than to Loaning Head, from examination of EH deskGIS mapping. (4b)
