Bronze spearhead (Eglingham)

A bronze spearhead with side loop, nearly 6 inches long, was ploughed up on Shipley Farm in 1865. (1)

Incorrectly stated to have been found at Dissington. (2)

In Alnwick Castle Museum, Case H, No 246. (3)

Present location of spearhead correct. Classified as Bronze Age Spearhead Class IV (for similar examples see Arch 61 Pt 2 1909 (Greenwell & Parker Brewis). (4)
