Church of St John the Baptist, Grade I. Nave probably mid-11th century; partly rebuilt early 12th century; chancel later 12th century; north arcade c.1190; tower c.1300; 14th century south window and tomb recess in nave; north aisle rebuilt 15th century; south porch probably 17th century; various 18th century sash windows inserted at 1902 restoration; 19th century vestry and 1864 east window. Church contains a war memorial as a wall-mounted freestone tablet, with black lettering, inscribed "THE GREAT WAR/ 1914-1919/ FALLEN/ (NAMES)/ SERVED/ (NAMES)". (3)
There is part of a mid 8th century cross-shaft inside St John the Baptst's Chuch. Full description of the fragment. (4a)
