Ramsey Cleugh bell pits (Rochester and Byrness)

Three large bell pits were found on Ramsey Cleugh during fieldwork in the 1970s. They are believed to be the same pits that are mentioned in a geological survey of the Otterburn and Elsdon areas in the 1880s, as 'worked in former times'.
