East Lilburn circular enclosure (Tillside)

Cropmark of a double-ditched enclosure, not well-defined. (1)

An oval ditched enclosure, visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs, and formed by two closely-spaced ditches, possibly a hillfort. The enclosure has overall measurements of 85m NE-SW by 77m NW-SE. The spacing between the ditches varies from 8-10m and there is a possible entrance on the south-east facing side. (2)

Cropmarks of a double ditched oval enclosure were recorded from the air in 1979 at NU 037236. Nothing visible on OS air photographs. (2a-b)
