Earthworks visible on lidar imagery look like a series of small quarries, presumably linked to Harelaw Cleugh ironstone workings. (2)
Small extractive pits and associated braided trackways are visible as earthworks on lidar imagery and remain extant on the latest 2016 aerial photography. The site is likely the Harelaw Cleugh ironstone workings recorded from mapping by authority 1 above. The earthworks were mapped as part of a PhD project at the University of York, in collaboration with the Historic England aerial investigation and mapping team. (3)
