Hedgeley pillbox.
D-shape concrete pillbox. (1)
World War II pillbox by bridge over the Breamish, facing north, on north bank. Standard shape with flat back wall and door, and 5 facets on front, 3 with stepped machine-gun embrasures. Interior blast wall inside door. Good condition. (2)

Pillbox, no specification; constructed 1940-1 as part of the Northern Command Wooler to Alnwick Stop Line. Said to be extant, condition unknown. Sited to NU 059 172. (4a)
Photograph and description of the pillbox. Described as D-shaped, and foliage visible on the top; seen to be constructed of concrete with a door and two small embrasures to the elevation shown. Location on map window brought up with the monument identical to source (4a) above. The history of Hedgeley states that the villagers were protected by a single pillbox. (4b)
Located north of the River Breamish, on a site bounded by the A697 to the west and a dismantled railway to the east. (4c)
