Long Barrow (Cheviotside)
Not far from the Ewe Hill camp, (NU 01 NW 27) lower down the hill, a long barrow as found to have a row of stones set upright passing through its middle, 2 feet below the natural surface; the barrow contained only burnt wood. (1)
The slopes to the west and south of the earthwork are too steep to support a long barrow. The hill saddle on the north and east sides was perambulated, but no traces of a barrow were found. (2)
Area perambulated but no trace of the alleged barrow could be found. (3)
Area searched during RCHME: SE Cheviots Project but no trace was found. (4a)
