Bronze Age urns (Cheviotside)

(Centred NU 031189) Three urns found. (1)

On a hill opposite Roddam Rigg House 3 urns containing bones were discovered. (2)

Roddam Rigg House c.1851 (Information as Authority 2 including listing under 'Cinerary urns known, or presumed from literature only'). (3)

Literature and local enquiries revealed no confirmation of the siting given by Authority (1). It has been found in other instances that his area siting is merely an indication that finds have been made in the region, and not necessarily within the banded area. The present location of the urns was not ascertained. (4)

Roddam Rigg House. Cinerary urn 'jar-shaped'. Six urns containing cremations. (5)
