The first church at Rothbury was probably built in the Anglo-Saxon period, though nothing remains of this early building. It is thought that there were once two churches on the site, joined by the now demolished tower. The earliest visible parts of the church, the chancel and parts of the transepts date to the 13th century. Many other parts however are 19th century in date. This is a Grade II* Listed Building protected by law.
