Standing stone east of Whittondean Farm (Whitton and Tosson)
A standing stone of late Neolithic and Bronze Age date stands on a natural outcropping rock on a north-facing slope above Whitton Burn. Another line of stones runs north-west to south-east. Two of the stones which form this line have cup marks visible on their surface. More cup marks can be seen on a nearby flat rock outcrop. The purpose of these cup marks is not certain, though they may well have a religious purpose. These remains are a Scheduled Monument protected by law.
