Tosson Burgh (Whitton and Tosson)
Tosson Burgh is a hillfort of Iron Age date on a hill overlooking the Coquet valley. It is naturally defended by the steep hillslopes to the north and west. The site is oval in shape and is surrounded by an earth bank and, in places, a ditch. The main entrance is clearly visible on the southern side as a break in the ditch. Several prehistoric finds were found here in the late 19th and early 20th century. This is a Scheduled Monument protected by law.
