Enclosure south of Henhill, Newham (Ellingham)
Cropmark enclosure shown by Google Earth aerial photography. (1)
A large curvilinear enclosure of later prehistoric or Roman date is visible as cropmarks on 2015 aerial reconnaissance photography, centred at NU 1624 2826. The enclosure appears to have an entrance to the south-west. Located to the south-west of Henhill Farm, the large enclosure is visible on both reconnaissance photography and on Google Earth. It is more complete in the latter, having a width measuring 125m and an entrance to the south-west. The 2006 GE imagery also appears to show numerous internal rectangular, curvilinear and amorphous features, suggesting this is a settlement.
