Hospital of St Mary Magdalene (Norham)

The Hospital of St Mary Magdalene at Capelford [Chapelford?] by Norham was built pre 1311 and demolished before 1333. (1)

West Ford [NT 893463] may be the ford referred to, for on the Scottish side of the Tweed is the site of a Chapel [NT 88854683] and a well known St Mary's Well. The site of the hospital, however, could not be established. (2)
