Long cairn on Dod Hill (Cheviotside)

NT 987207: A small undisturbed long cairn was found during field walking in 1979, at Dod Hill. Surveyed at 1:200. (1)

Trapezoid in plan, measures 24m long by 13m wide at the north end, and upto 1.5m high. Orientation NNW-SSE and lies parallel to the hill-slope. (2)

NT 98702065. Long cairn on Dod Hill, Ilderton. No signs of recent disturbance. No visible evidence of a kerb or any internal structure. (3)

NT 9860 2064. The remains of a Bronze Age long cairn located on the south western slope of Dod Hill above the Lilburn Burn and 1 kilometre north east of The Dod. The cairn is triangular in plan and aligned north north west by south south east. It is 24 metres long, up to 14 metres wide and 1.5 metres high. Scheduled. (4)

Site visited in the course of a Higher Level Stewardship Farm Environment Plan, where site noted in an excellent condition, though bracken covered. (5)
