Bronze Age burial urn from Old Earle (Earle)
Urn, inverted over fragments of human bones and a thin piece of flint on a flat stone. It was found on the summit of a green hill, in the farm of Old Earle, near Wooler. The base of the urn was 'not a foot below the surface, with a few stones over it.' The flint has since been lost. The urn was found on 12 March 1814. (1)(2)
