Dilston Paper Mill (Corbridge)

Dilston Paper Mill operated in the 19th century and must have gone out of use by the 1890s when it was described as a ruin. All that remains today are traces of a leat and a stone-arched outfall on the bend of the Devil's Water. Three sides of a stone-lined pit may be the remains of a drying shed. (1)

Dilston Paper Mill depicted with old mill race, suggesting conversion to steam power by 1860. (2a)

Not shown on 2nd edn mapping, except for three walls suggesting in ruinous condition. (2b)

Recorded by NRIM. (2c)
