Salters Road (Alnham)
Salters Road is the name given to part of a route believed to have been used by salt traders in the medieval period. The salt was produced by the coast, and the road went through Rothbury to Alnham, and then onto the junction with Clennel Street where it went north to the Border. The stretch of Salters Road from Alnham to survives only as a grass track.
