Possible Iron Age homestead (Knaresdale with Kirkhaugh)
A possible prehistoric homestead has been tentatively identified below Grey Nag. A more recent sheepfold has been built on top. (1)(2)

A group of post medieval sheep folds are visible as structures and ruined structure on air photographs, at NY 6533 4849. The stony outcrop, on which the folds are situated, appears to provide the material for their construction. The features are extant on the latest 2006 specialist vertical photography. (3c)
