Featherwood East Roman camp (Alwinton)
The remains of a Roman camp can be found 900m north-east of Featherwood. It lies east of Dere Street. It is almost square in shape with rounded corners. It measures 396m by 400m within a rampart 3.8m wide. The camp dates from the first century AD Roman occupation of Britain. This is a Scheduled Monument protected by law.
