Newbiggin Point mesolithic site (Newbiggin-by-the-Sea)

Mesolithic flints were found at Newbiggin Point (NZ 319880). They lay directly on top of a layer of boulder clay, covered by 3ft-10ft of blown sand. At a few points on the cliff, the flints can be seen in situ. (1)

A number of eroded patches in the cliff at Newbiggin Point were examined and a few pieces of flint found. No likely concentrations, however, were noted. (2)
