A plinth made from dressed stone blocks was found in the woods south-west of Cresswell. The plinth consisted of about 24 blocks of stone. Much of the stone has been taken from here in the past and can now be seen in patios and steps in the adjacent caravan park. This may have been the plinth that supported the Whale Head Jawbone, which once existed in the gardens of Cresswell Hall. The plinth has now been dismantled to make way for a conservatory.
