Axes (Widdrington Station and Stobswood)

Two bronze axes were found here in 1973 and 1975. They are probably of Bronze Age date. Much of the surrounding land had been replaced after opencast mining, so they probably came from soil from somewhere else in south-east Northumberland.
N11907
Bronze Age (2600BC to 700BC)
