Stone axe from Chevington Wood (Tritlington and West Chevington)

Polished stone axe found in Chevington Wood c.1918 was 9-3/4ins long, 2-7/8ins wide and 1-3/4ins thick with an oval section. Exhibited to Society of Antiquaries Newcastle on 28.2.1934 by Mr William Walker of Amble per Mr J Carse of Morpeth. (1)

Neolithic polished stone celt lent by Mr W Walker in 1934. Case No 3, Accession No. 1934.3. (2)

(Marginal) No further information was discovered regarding the exact site of this find. (3)
