Neolithic stone axe head found near Longhorsley (Longhorsley)
[Marginal] A polished stone adze, 3-7/8ins long by 2-3/8ins across the cutting edge, found one mile west of Longhorsley about 1870 by Mr Leighton of Molesden, Morpeth. An unusual feature is that the butt has been neatly squared off. Presented to the Society of Antiquaries Newcastle on 26th January 1938 by Leiut Col G R B Spain CMG, FSA. (1)
