(NZ 13998217) Camp. (1)

Native fort. (Northum 68 SE/St J 16N). (2)

'Camp House'. A hill fort of the Contour type, approx 5 acres in area, at 55 08'00" Lat, 01 46' 50" Long. (3)

This earthwork is situated on the summit of a slight rise about 420 feet above sea level. The natural slopes are very gentle but the site commands an extensive view in all directions.
It has been largely ploughed out, only the north and part of the south sides remaining but sufficient remains to show that the defences follow the contour of the hill top.
