Church of St Cuthbert, grade II listed building. Parish church. (2)

Noted as a complex multi-phase extant building. (3)

Stained glass window unveiled on 24th October 1924 as a memorial to the dead of the First World War. It is a single light, dedicated to Joshua. The name "Joshua Deliverer" is the halo around his head, with the text as ribboned scroll on either side of his shoulders reading: JOSHUA DELIVERER ART THOU FOR US OR OUR ADVERSARIES? / TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND IN MEMORY OF / [NAMES] / WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR 1914-1918. (4)

Assessment and structural history. Little known about the medieval chapel except that by the 17th century it was in very poor condition. In 1793 the nave was totally rebuilt in simple Gothick style. The church was altered again in the late 19th or early 20th century and the vestry replaced. (5)
