St Leonard's Hospital, Mitford (Mitford)

[Name centred NZ 17518612] Spital Hill on Site of St Leonard's Hospital. (1)

Lesser Hospital (Net income under £50) at Mitford. Existed until AD 1500. (2)

A hospital for the poor, aged and sick founded pre-AD1135 at Mitford and dedicated to St Leonard; dissolved c.AD1537. Founded temp. Henry I by William Bertram.
Some time after 1464 the hospital was annexed to Newminster Abbey, (NZ18NE 7).

No further information was discovered regarding the site of this hospital. Sited to name 'Spital Hill'. (5)
