Adjoining to the house (Stanton Hall) was formerly a domestic chapel now converted to a barn. (3)
(NZ 1320 8950) Tradition points out the site of the chapel 100 yards to the south east of Stanton Hall, in a grove of sycamores behind the gardens. (4)
The site of a chapel three chains north-east of Stanton Hall. (5)
Site as depicted by authority 4 falls in a copse of ancient oak trees, in which there are no surface indications of a building, and it is assumed that the cardinal point, direction given is incorrect and should actually read as authority 5 which falls within a sycamore grove.
Site of chapel as depicted by authority 1 shows slight non-surveyable mounds which resemble buried building foundations. Old field walls in the vicinity contain much fashioned stone though none that could, with certainty, be associated with the former chapel, or burial ground, of which there is no trace.
The depopulated village of Stanton (Northern 59 SE 9) is adjacent to both these sites. (6)
