Close House Gardens (Heddon-on-the-Wall)

These gardens surround Close House. Parkland runs from the house down to the river. They were laid out in the late 18th century. A gate lodge stands on the edge of the park, and the parkland includes an ornamental canal and bridge, as well as a ha ha to prevent animals from straying into the gardens.
