Round Cairn (Heddon-on-the-Wall)
These are the remains of a Bronze Age round cairn standing on top of a natural hill. It is a large mound of stone and earth. Although it was probably originally built as a burial mound, it was reused in the mid-16th century as a beacon during warfare in the area. This is a Scheduled Monument protected by law.
