Greenleighton barrow (Rothley with Hollinghill)

A small barrow near Green Leighton proved on examination to have been partially rifled. It was 20ft in diameter, 2ft high, of earth and stones.
Nine and a half feet south-east of the centre laid upon the ground surface was a vessel but no bones. It was 10ins high, 8-3/4ins wide at the mouth, and 3-1/4ins at the bottom.
It was decorated with scorings. At the centre of the mound was a hollow containing nothing but soil. Several pieces of burnt stone were found in the barrow. (1)

Local enquiries and perambulation failed to discover the whereabouts of this barrow. It has presumably been levelled by cultivation. Type and present location of urn not ascertained. (2)
