Possible lead workings (Brinkburn and Hesleyhurst)

A rectilinear trench, possibly a lead prospecting trial, surviving as an earthwork. (1)

A rectilinear excavation, 25m long by 9.5m wide, is surrounded by upcast banks 3.5m wide and 1m high on three sides. The trench is up to 1.7m deep and cuts narrow ridge-and-furrow (NZ 09 NE 38). This may be a lead prospecting trial trench (3b). (3a)
