Old Ridley deserted medieval village (Broomley and Stocksfield)
The earliest record of people living at Old Ridley is in the 1296 Lay Subsidy when four people were assessed. By the late 18th century three buildings are shown at the settlement and it now comprises a single farmstead. There are no earthworks visible to show the extent of the medieval settlement.
