Dere Street at Riding Mill (Broomhaugh and Riding)

The route of Dere Street Roman road goes through Riding Mill on its way from Ebchester to Corbridge. In places it survives as an earthwork, visible as two slight ridges about 1.5m apart. Part of the road has been excavated and, despite no surface features being visible, the remains were shown to survive in reasonable condition.
