A hoard of bronze implements, the greater part of which is in Alnwick Museum, is listed as having been found at Farnley in 1835, about 13ft below the surface during railway cutting operations. The hoard includes four fragments of two spearheads (nos 250,251, 252 and 245), fragments of dagger blades (no 239) and a flanged axe with stop ridge and loop (no 195). (1)(2)
