Stone arch, riverbanks, upper path near Quarryheads Lane, Durham City

A surviving and visually exposed stone arch at the bend in the upper riverbank footpath heading towards Quarryheads Lane, formerly used to drain waste from the underground coal mines. (1)

This was added to the Local List on 13th November 2023.
