Cast iron gatepost, upper footpath wall near Prebends' Bridge Cottage, Quarryheads Lane, Durham City

A small but curious surviving cast iron gate post built into the stone wall, that dates from the 19th century as part of the road layout improvements and toll function of the area leading to Prebends Bridge. (1)

This was added to the Local List on 13th November 2023.
