Malt Kiln Cottages, Raby

Large estate cottages show extant on the first edition OS plan of 1860. Distinctive Arts and Crafts influenced design with stone ground floor and rendered half timbered upper floor with pitched gables. Stepped ridge line with large chimneys. Entrance doors solid boarded design with small, tiled canopies above, windows are multi pane casements throughout. Buildings partially covered in foliage with small garden spaces to the front enclosed by low stone walls. (1)
