Bishop Bek's Chapel, Auckland Castle, Bishop Auckland (Bishop Auckland)

A large two story Chapel (4) constructed under the authority of Bishop Bek circa 1300 A.D. It was destroyed circa 1650 A.D. after the English Civil War (2). It was destroyed by Sir Arthur Haselrigg one of the Roundheads or parliamentarian and governor of Newcastle after the Civil War (3)

This site was added to the Local List on 13th November 2023.
