Durham and Sunderland Railway Shincliffe depot (Shincliffe)

This was the passenger terminus of the Durham & Sunderland Railway, which opened on 28th July 1839, and closed on 24th July 1893. The old station was sympathetically incorporated into a modern housing development, thus ensuring its preservation. (1)
