Cup-and-ring-marked outcrop, Howgill Grange, Baldersdale, Hunderthwaite (Baldersdale)

This is a group of cup and ring marks on the north side of Baldersdale. The rock is partly covered by turf and has at least thirteen cups and several grooves carved onto it. Several of the grooves partly surround the cups. These carvings are probably of Late Neolithic or Early Bronze Age. This is a Scheduled Ancient Monument protected by law (1).

A prehistoric carved rock on the north side of Baldersdale. It is situated on a ridge 450 metres west-north-west of Howgill Grange. The rock is partly covered by turf and the visible part measures 0.77 metres by 0.65 metres by 0.12 metres high. The carving consists of at least 13 cups and several grooves. Several of the grooves partly enclose cups. Scheduled. (3)
