Multiple cups and cup-and-ring-marked boulder, Eastern enclosure site, Barningham Moor 1980-1997
This sandstone boulder has a number of prehistoric cup marks and a cup and ring mark on it. These depressions may be natural but were probably carved in the Early Bronze Age or Late Neolithic. The purpose of these carvings is not clear though they may have had a religious function. This is a Scheduled Monument protected by law (1).
