This sandstone boulder has a number of prehistoric cup and ring marks carved onto it. These depressions were probably carved in the Early Bronze Age or Late Neolithic, although some may be naturally formed. The purpose of these carvings is not clear though they may have had a religious function. This is a Scheduled Monument protected by law (1).
