Cup-marked boulder, south-east of Osmaril Gill, Barningham Moor, Teesdale (Barningham Moor)
This sandstone boulder has a number of cup marks carved onto it. These carvings were probably created in the Early Bronze Age or Neolithic periods. The purpose of these markings are not clear, although they may have had a religious function. This is a Scheduled Monument, protected by law (1).
