This sandstone boulder has a number of cup marks carved onto it. These carvings were probably carved in the Early Bronze Age or Neolithic periods, although the markings in this case make this difficult to ascertain. The purpose of these markings are not clear, although they may have had a religious function. This is a Scheduled Monument protected by law (1).
