Medieval or post medieval farmstead, north-west of Heatherlea (formerly Foggerthwaite House), Eggleston (Eggleston)
This is the remains of a small medieval farmstead. The foundations of a small group of rectangular and oval buildings can be seen. They are next to a large medieval earth bank and were probably part of a 13th-14th century farm owned by the monks of Rievaulx Abbey (1).
NY 9776 2518: Foundations of a probable Post Medieval building/barn showing as an earthwork on air photographs. (3)
