Cairns and settlement structures, Fatherley Hill Park Area, Wolsingham (Frosterley)

Round wall structure 1999
Round wall structure 1999
A number of structures were observed downslope from Fatherley Hill, Wolsingham. These structures bear a resemblance to other Late Bronze Age and Early Iron Age round houses and features in Teesdale and Weardale. Other features noted are probably industrial such as quarrying (1). There is a possibility that some of the features may be ring cairns (2).
