A stone cairn stands at this site. It is probably a Bronze Age burial mound. A cup and ring marked stone sits on the southwest side of the mound. It is not known whether this rock was part of the cairn or was there when it was built. They are Scheduled Monuments protected by law (1).

The visible part of the rock measures 0.8 metres by 0.35 metres by 0.1 metre. The carving consists of two large cups joined by a groove, and one small cup. Scheduled. Recorded as part of The Northumberland and Durham Rock Art Project (NADRAP) 2005-2008 (6).
