War Memorial Homes, Gardiner Terrace, Pelton Fell (Pelton Fell)
A crescent of 24 brick-built two-storey houses with a central green. Built originally for war widows after the First World War and named after Sir Robert Gardiner. Modernised in recent years. Financed by the owner of Pelton Fell Colliery co. (1-2).
It is documented that the homes were built in 1922 (3) yet the houses first appear on fifth epoch Ordnance Survey maps of the 1950's (4).
